My husband works for a local children's museum, and they are planning a Disability Awareness Night.  To read more about it, click here.  In reading about it, I saw that they'd posted a link to an EXCELLENT document they have careate for Autistic children, to prepare them for their visit to the museum. If you look at the document, you can tell that a ton of time and effort was put into it - it contains pictures of the museum, along with explanations on what the various exhibits are, and what the children can do there.  How great would it be, time permitting, to create a similar document for trips with your children to Disney or anywhere else?  Reading through it, I found that it would be very helpful in letting the children know what to expect, what they can and cannot do, that there are quiet areas in the museum if they get overwhelmed, etc.

If you'd like to take a peek, see their Facebook page or go directly to the document here.

Fellow mods: The file and the information is being released to the general public, but if you don't feel that my posting a link to it is appropriate, please delete the post and/or link.

I think this is an awesome thing they have done.  If the mods would like I would like to take a shot at makeing a similar document for Mouse-Aid for children with disabilities in general for our board.  One that people can download from us and take it with them.  Le tme know what you think.
