Direct from the official Disney blog:

"...we will no longer be hosting Disney Grad Nite at the Walt Disney World Resort after this year’s event. With more leisure guests visiting in the springtime, it’s become challenging to schedule special events during April and May. Instead, graduates will have new opportunities to celebrate with us in the parks at more flexible and convenient times."

What do you guys think about this? For one, we won't have to worry about shortened park hours during that time of year anymore!

Rob is that YOU asking what we think or was it part of this article? I have always stayed away from WDW in spring b/c of the crowds and sometimes the type of crowds it draws. I can't say I will miss it. do you think that it was primarily Fla grads anyway? I imagine that kids traveling to WDW don't have loads of cash to spend at the park e.g. nice dining etc. I'm sure this will benefit WDW and says a lot about the market now for Disney Travel.

Yup, that was me asking what y'all thought about it (guess I should have reprinted the entire post)...

Actually, grads from all over the south-east travel down to WDW for Grad Nite (my high school in South Georgia did back when I was in school) -- it's typically just for the nite (depending on travel time, etc.) in the Magic Kingdom and all of the counter-service places are open for "cheap-ish" food.

Anytime you get a group of kids together, there will be issues. Heck, we've even seen crazy antics from the Night of Joy crowds (and I've heard from various Cast Member friends that those nights are sometimes even worse than Grad Nites, as far as behavior, etc.).

I like it so we have more times to go, but I felt a little sad that something went on for so long was coming to an end. Not that we've ever participated or had family that did but it sounded like fun. I guess they can always bring it back if they want.  I wish they would bring back  e ride nights.  They were really worth the money!!
