The recovery trip Day 1 Cruise  (United States) Modified By CaptTigger on 6/14/2010 5:49:45 PM

The trip reports are going to be a regular trip report till we get to WDW then we are doing a kind of different kind of report….. So I hope you enjoy these….

The recovery trip

Who: Mrs.CaptTigger, planner and boss…..

Capttigger, me, guy who drives the truck and listens to the Mrs. (hey I know what is good for me)

Travel Day

We left New Orleans a little early at around 7:00 am and headed out to Lake City. We made good time and only hit one bad rain storm. Once we got to Lake City we had an early meal and headed back to the hotel and a 2 hour storm ensued.  I now know why it is called Lake City….

Day  One

Sail Away.

We are up and off from Lake City on our way to the Big Boat. We make our way down and arrive right on time at 11:15. Well a lot of folks are here already and we get boarding number 13. WOW that is kind of high. By 12:50 we are on the boat and head for lunch at about 1:00. We eat at Parrot Cay and have a good meal. After that we head to our room to get unpacked. We only get half way unpacked when we need to be on deck. Sherrie has a meet to attend and I head off to a DVC meet. As I get there and the place is packed. The meeting has already started and I fill out the card and it gets dropped in to the bag. They draw names out for trivia and mine is the first one out the bag. I got help with the question and won a blanket. It is interesting that 220 rooms on our cruise are DVC members. That is 740 guests are DVC members. That is the most of any cruise that was not a DVC cruise.

We head back to the room and get ready for the life boat drill. Then back to the room to get ready for the sail away party. It was very nice weather for the party on deck. We stop on the way out on deck to get a nice cold drink in a DCL glass. It was a strawberry and pina colada drink that was frozen. The party was a little different than I remember in the past. We did the countdown and then the wonderful horn went off…… We are on Vacation….. We took some video from the room on our veranda as we left the port area.

After that we went to dinner at Tritons where Sherrie had snails-escargot! I had the Three Cheese Lobster Pasta. Sherrie had the Sea Bass both of which were very good. We then made our way to the Golden Mickey’s show at the theater. Later in then night we stopped by Diversions and had a drink and wings. Now, back to the room to get ready for a wonderful day at Castaway Cay….. Can’t wait!

I feel the same way about the snails. What do you mean you were number 13 and it was a high number? It sounds like you are off to a great start!!!

You board by group numbers. So many people get #1 so many people get #2. We have been in group 7 or 8 before but 13 was kind of high..... It just took a lot long to get on the ship...

Doesn't it always seem to storm around the Lake City/Gainesville area... Especially in the summer.

Sounds like a great start, I hate the safety instructions but necessary.  Can't wait to hear more, I love escargot, hope she enjoyed them. How was that lobster pasta?
