Ok as you all know I have been to WDW over 25 times. While we all like trip reports I thought I would type this one a little different. Let’s say from another perspective. More like a first time trip with no planning. No message board checking just a little different. I hope you enjoy them as they are still what we did while we were in WDW after our Disney Cruise.
The Recovery Trip

WDW Day 1
We get off the big cruise boat and are headed to Walt Disney World. We are off the boat by 8am and are on our way.
We see our exit and come upon this big archway that says Walt Disney World… must be in the right place. Next thing we pull up to is the Magic Kingdom gates. We are waved through and soon see our turn to the Wilderness Lodge. We turn and go under this big teepee sign that says Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We get a parking pass at the gate and soon we pull up to this big log cabin. Wow this place is huge! Soon we walk inside and you can see all the way up 7 stories to the top. They got some wood in this place. I soon find out we will be staying next store at a smaller lodge called the villas. Sherrie checks in and since it is only 9am our room is not ready. Sherrie says it is time to go to Animal Kingdom so we head to this bus stop. Soon after we get to the bus stop a bus comes by that says Animal Kingdom so we get on. After a short ride we arrive at this Animal Kingdom. We go through the gate and the next thing we see is this huge tree. Someone has gone to town with a whittling knife on this big old tree. They carved all kind of animals out of this tree. I tried to count them for yall but every where I look they had more carvings. I heard that the tree was hollow and you could go inside and see bugs in their real life. I don’t think I want to go see the bugs in their tree. We are now past the tree and are going on a safari. We walk and walk and walk till we get to this line and they say wait for the next truck. Soon our truck pulls up and we get on. As soon as we leave the driver says we are going on a 2 week safari….. WHAT???? I did not even bring clothes… So we are off since we can’t get off the truck. I guess we are stuck. We soon are seeing animals of all kinds. Hippos, giraffes, crocs, birds, and soon we see elephants. We even see a baby elephant. One of them was in the pool but it was ok he had his trunk on. This road is some bumpy as we are bounced all over the truck. Soon the radio crackles and a guy is calling us. He needs our help so now we are going to go help him. We run some poachers into a trap for him but that means we have had to cut our trip short. Soon we are back at base camp and we get to get off the truck. We head away from there and are going to some Nemo show. We walk for a long way and I can see that tree again. Soon we find this big building and get to go inside. We are looking for this Nemo guy. Well come to find out this guy is a fish…. Soon we get to watch a story about how Nemo got lost but was found and all the other fish that they saw along the way. We even got to see some turtles that really talk funny…Dude…. They even had a fish named Dory that could not remember a thing. It was a pretty good show overall.
After the show we got a call that our room at the big cabin was ready. So we left the park and got on a bus again. We ended up right back where we started at that big log cabin. We need to stock up on some supplies so we hopped in the truck and drove. We had reservations for some free food at Chick Fil A. They had a new spicy sandwich that was coming out and we had free coupons so we stopped and each got one. After we did that we stopped at the outlet mall and shopped at Character Premier. We got some great deals there like a Pirates shirt that was $44 for only $5. Now it was off for some stuff for the room and the store.
Soon we were going back under that big arch again and got to our room. We are on the first floor and face the big walkway that goes from the lodge to the villas. This is a very nice room. We unpacked and Sherrie did some laundry while we got the lay of the land. Soon dinner time was upon us and we headed to the big Lodge to get food. We go to Roaring Forks and get a flat bread pizza and a pasta dish and bring it back to the room.
We make a phone call and are going to meet some folks in the park tonight. Kristen and Jessica are going to be there so we can meet up with them.
After dinner we get ready and are off to a place called Magic Kingdom. We hop another bus and are soon at this Magic Kingdom. As soon as we enter we see a real steam train so we hop aboard. Soon we are at Frontierland and then we arrive at a place called Toontown Fair. We rode all the way back to Main Street and rode around again. After that we went and rode this never ending ride called the TTA. It never stopped moving and went all over Tomorrowland. We got to see all kinds of stuff even went inside of Space Mountain. We made our way to watch the Fireworks show called Wishes…. After that we met up with Kristen and Jessica and get to know them. After being attacked by some big bugs we make our way to next ride. We walk into Liberty Square which has a nice tree with 13 lanterns hanging from it. Wow right in the middle are some folks in the stockade. Right behind that is a riverboat but we head over to the very nice house behind it. Looks like a nice mansion…. could even be a bed and breakfast to maybe stay at. We walk up and they have a graveyard right by the front doors….. Kind of odd huh??? Wait did the tombstone just look at me???? No really… Sherrie did you see that???? The doors open and we are welcomed…. Not a very friendly staff…. We are herded into a room and then told to move away from the walls…. Wait what happened to the door???? What is that voice? Oh my the walls are moving…. Ahhhhhhh there is a dead person hanging from the ceiling…. I don’t think I want to stay here….. Oh boy a way out…. What is this??? Doombuggies??? We get in and a ghost lowers a safety bar…. Another one of those staff members is standing there and they don’t talk much… I am not liking this… look at that ballroom… wait a minute is that ghosts???? Look at them all…… OK why is there a grave yard here???? Look the fat lady is singing. Oh my there is a ghost in the car with us…. I want out of here now….This lady in a wedding dress wants me to hurry back and bring my death certificate with me… I don’t think so. The ghost makes one final attempt to get us to stay telling us there is room for one more but we are out of here…..
We now have stepped back in time and have wandered into Frontierland. This is an old west town that stands along the Rivers of America. We head down to get on the train that takes you down in the mine. As we head down something goes wrong…. The tracks ahead are out… Earthquake! Oh no the train falls down into a shaft and it is now a runaway train… We are going around and around up and down we even run right through town. Wait was that dinosaur bones???? Finally we come to a stop and are able to get off…. Man that ride should be closed… We move on…. It is now getting late as it is almost midnight and we decide we are done for the night. We thank Jessica and our new friend Kristen and make our way back to Main Street. We hop that big Disney bus and are back at our log cabin for the night.
Ok folks on a side note….. I got to do something today I just had to note. We rode a Brand New Disney Bus. As soon as you got in the bus you had that new bus smell. After everyone got off I went to talk to the driver and asked how many miles it had. He told me it only had 3000 miles on it. It did not have the sound system in it yet. It did not have any ads inside yet. It also did not have any balloons on the outside. It just had the Disney Transportation stickers on the outside.
