Have any of you (or anyone you know) ever taken one of the vacations by Disney?
They look amazing but they are SOOO expensive. I would love to know if everything is really all inclusive - tours, ALL meals, etc. If all of the meals, transportation and a guide are really part of the vacation then I could see how it would be worth it.
I would just like to know if there is a Disney feel to it even if you are not in Disney. Some of the trips look like fun!
I put my two cents in
I haven't done any of the Adventures by Disney, but I find the concept intriguing. The few people that I have heard of that have done them have had nothing but positive things to say about it.
All the scheduled meals and activities are included. What is scheduled though varies by destination. For example, on the Alaska Family Vacation, it includes 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 4 dinners, so there are some dinners that you would be responsible for. The price includes tips except for your Disney Adventure guides, and they suggest $5-$8 per person/per day/per guide (so, for a 7-day trip, that would be $35-$56 for each guide from each person). Airfare is not included. And, alcohol is typically not included either.
You can get a lot of information from the Adventures by Disney web-site.
I was following a blog and Twitter account of someone who took a Vacations by Disney trip of the Western U.S. What I found interesting and appealing was that they visited places that your average tourist wouldn't visit. For example, they visited a really neat looking ghost town in Wyoming and stayed in a hotel there. They didn't even touch Las Vegas, and that's where most typical tours of the west may stop. The tours also seemed very educational, yet entertaining.
So I am thinking about it for when the boys are a little older.
I think Taylor is the perfect age for a trip like this. I think I am going to have to look into it for next year!
Thanks!
