Best Friends Pet Care Luxury Resort

On September 1, 2010 the brand new resort opened in a 50,000 sq ft state of the art complex. The resort is located on Bonnet Creek Parkway right across from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. This will be the only pet care facility on WDW property in the near future as the other 5 will be closing.

This location can accommodate 300 dogs, cats and pocket pets. The location also has:

17,000 sq ft of indoor air conditioned space

10,000 sq ft of covered outdoor patios and play areas

25,000 sq ft private dog park

Two 1,100 sq ft doggy day camp rooms

The 25,000 sq ft Dog Park consists of:

600 ft walking trail
3,300 sq ft artificial turf play area
4,500 sq ft grassy knoll play area
1,300 sq ft "splash and play" area
Two 1,400 sq ft areas where owners can sit and play with their pets

Some of the top of the line areas have 4 rooms of 226 sq ft luxury suites that feature a flat panel TV, raised platform bed and a private, covered outdoor play yard.

No, the cats are not left out as they have split level rooms and separate potty area.  All areas are air conditioned.

They also have grooming services.

I hope this helps you plan for your next visit.

I have a thing at home that talks about the rates, but I remember that dogs start at $37/night.

Can someone get more info?   Hmm can travel agents book for your dog's stay too?

I wonder if they make you come visit your dog 2 or 3x's a day. I know the old kennels required that we visit our pup 3 times a day. Figure in disney transportation and a visit, with walking the pup and that's about 6hrs a day dedicated to going back and forth and visiting.

I'm sure they can walk your pup for a fee? or is it included.

For dogs:

Indoor boarding includes 2 potty walks for $37/night ($34/night for resort guests)

Indoor/outdoor boarding includes one potty walk for $40/night ($36/night for resort guests)

"Vacation Villas" includes one potty walk, a playgroup, a flat screen TV and turndown service (a biscuit) for $59/night ($53/night for resort guests)

"VIP Luxury Suites" include two potty walks, two playgroups, a flat screen TV, a webcam, a bedtime story and bath before going home for $76/night ($69/night for resort guests) - the bath before going home requires a minimum 3 night stay

They offer a lot of additional services separately like playgroups, playtime, cuddle time, bottled water, and a premium bed.

For cats:

A two level condo is $23/night ($21/night for resort guests)

A four level condo is $32/night ($30/night for resort guests)

And, cats can also get some add-ons like playtime, tuna on a Ritz cracker!, a kitty activity toy and a deluxe bed.

For pocket pets (I'm thinking like hamsters, but I don't have a definition):

Rates run from $12-$23/night (resort guests are from $10-$21/night)

Other:

There are discounts for multiple pets - 2nd & 3rd pets sharing a standard suite get 30% off, and 2nd & 3rd pets sharing a Vacation Villa or VIP Luxury Suite get 50% off.

They also offer daycare services (in a suite) and daycamp (in a group) services for various prices.

And, they state to let them know if you are a DVC member, so maybe there is an additional discount for that?
