Pear almond tart  (United States)

This October we stopped in the

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway and had a tart that was made with pears and almonds. I don't recall the exact name but would love to find the recipe.  The crust was so buttery and the filling was delicious. If anyone possibly knows the name and/or has the recipe I would greatly appreciate it.  I've been looking online and found some French tart recipes that sound like they could be close.  Any help with this would be great.

Hi Stitch and welcome to Mouse-aid.  I don't have the recipe for it but I'll pop in at Kringla tomorrow and see what info I can come up with.  Cheers.

Wow, thanks for the fast response and taking the time from your vacation. I don't think it was listed on the menu board on the wall, it just had a card in the case with it(if I remember correctly), so I don't know if it was an official menu item.

Re: Pear almond tart  (United States)

The Area Manager, Edda, told me she would get the recipe and email it to me.  At the moment I'm still waiting.  I'll put in a phone call if I don't hear something soon.

Nah, I just know to ask the person who has a name tag but not a uniform.  ;)

So far, I've had three people, (one live and two virtual) tell me they'd email the recipe but alas, no luck.  I haven't given up though.  I'll be back there in a couple of months.  Worst case, I'll go buy some and reverse imagineer it.

So how is the search for the recipe coming? Guess you may end up having to reverse imagineer it!!! I will be buying some when we go in May, but would still like to learn how to make it at home.

No change.  I'll be there in about a week.  I'll give it another shot.

Still no response from anyone at Kringla. I've been told by no less than five people that they would send me the recipe - no luck. I couldn't buy a tart while I was there because it wasn't on the menu. I'm going to ask AJ Wolfe to do some investigating.

Thanks for all your hard work. Maybe they only have it in the fall and winter? I'm going to stop by when I'm there next month.
