It’s official.

The Disney Fantasy, Disney Cruise Line’s brand new 4,000-passenger ocean liner, will be christened in New York City on March 1.

The ship, which is currently undergoing final preparations in Germany prior to its trans-Atlantic journey, will make its way under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and enter New York Harbor on Tuesday, Feb. 28. .

The Fantasy will sail past Staten Island and Brooklyn, then makes its way between the Statue of Liberty and Governors Island before cruising past downtown Manhattan and pulling into the dock at Pier 88 in midtown Manhattan, just north of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.

New Yorkers will have four days — Feb. 28-March 2 — to catch a glimpse of the Disney Cruise Line’s newest ocean liner.

The christening ceremonies — a first for DCL after its first three ships, the Magic, Wonder and Dream were christened in Port Canaveral, Fla. — are scheduled for the evening of March 1.

After leaving New York City, the Fantasy will sail south to its home port of Port Canaveral.

Its maiden voyage is scheduled for March 31.

Later this spring and summer, the Disney Magic will be sailing out of the same Manhattan Cruise Terminal, with itineraries that include trips to Canada, the Bahamas (featuring stops at Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral for a day at Walt Disney World) and a two-night cruise to nowhere.
