I'm always asked: How can I make my signature colorful or change the font?
Can someone explain it better than me? I'm sure we can use several tips.
My best tip: when I don't know what to do I hit the source button in the editor to read how others have done it. Type your signature how you want it in an "reply box" and then hit source and cut and paste

In order to do any special effects to signatures (color change, font change, italics, even line breaks) it requires the use of html code. You will need to bracket and use the code for the span of text you want to edit. I'll post the actual code to my signature to give a few pointers. If the following does not make sense or if anyone would like to do something specific, please let me know and we'll get that code out there to get it set up.

Beth I just did what you suggested, after reading it a few times , and it works very well.
Jamie I love ya, but HTML? It's like math and you know how much I don't like math.
Let me just add, when you reply to the thread, a box pops up with what you are replying to, the forum, subject, then two buttons "Basic Text Box" and "Rich Text Editor" then you will see 3 rows of buttons and doodads. It looks a little bit like Microsoft Office. That's where you can change your font, color, size add in the little smiley faces...and then press the source button (top row on the left) to get the HTML code. Then copy and go paste that into your signature under "My settings".
Hope that helped and I didn't just confuse everyone...

I was just pointing out your 1879 posts , you are by far, a much better poster than I, you must like math and HTML
Here's a question, why do some people have much cooler emoticons that aren't on the "insert smiley" button? Oh and another one, is there a way to make my font always be Verdana x-small without my having to change it every time?

Hey Meag, you're "dressed" in Mardi Gras colors! haha Cute!
To answer your smiley question, Internet Explorer can be a bit of a bugger when it comes to smileys. so obviously you see the smiley in the 2nd row of your editor when you're writing a reply/post. Well in other web browsers, there are a lot more smileys available, complete with a scroll bar. The button pushers (i.e. Beth) have tried and tried to get this to work in Internet Explorer as well and it's just stubborn and won't work.
So.... there's a fix. If you look at the icon that is 4 over from your smiley (it is a square that looks like a little mountain and sun), click that. This will bring up a pop-up window, click the "Browse Server" button, which will bring up another pop-up. The first four boxes are folders, then tere are images. Click the 4th box which is called "smilies". In there, you'll find the mecca of smileys to your hearts content. Find the smiley you want to use, click it. this will drop you back to the previous window. Click OK and you've got it in your editor window!
Did that make sense?
Oh, and as for the font question, I don't think there is a way to default the font you want. You'll have to change each time. I'm lazy, that's why all of my posts look like this! hahaha

The colors were purely an unconciuos decision
Your directions are wonderful thank you, I only want to add, for internet explorer if you are like me and block all popups after the clicking the "Browse Server" button you will get a popup about popups being blocked as well as a yellow bar that says about pop ups being blocked. You can either temporarily allow popups for this site (and have to do it every time you clear your cookies) or just allow popups on this site and start the whole process over from finding the mountain/sun button 4 to the right of the smiley face.
If I figure out the font thing I'll let you know...hmmmm

Glad you found the Meag, and that's why I let Jamie do it because I call everything buttons, Jamie does an awesome job.
I"m not a fan if IE, infact that is why we use the image box because IE won't let us expand and provide additional smilies... In the smiley folder there are two more folders. One for Disney only and one for holiday smilies. I broke them up because there are so many smilies. in holiday you can find your seasonal smilies and Disney you can find your favorite ride or character and if we don't have it let me know and I will work on adding it.
