Re: Hayden  (Canada)
Hi all, we're needing all the prayers and pixie dust you can muster. Today, two weeks out from our departure date, Hayden has come down with a sore throat. This is NOT something good in his world as it makes his already compromised swallow really difficult and therefore he has greater difficulty with everything else. Thanks so much.

Re: Hayden  (United States)

He will be at the top of my prayer list. I was worried when I didn't hear from you yesterday.

Re: Hayden  (United States)

SMA mom, I would be happy to make a few calls to see about getting your room ready ahead of time is possible. If you will not be there until late afternoon you will not have a problem getting in the room right away. But, if you arrive early, it may not be ready. We have had better results getting the rooms ready early at DVC resorts than at the value resorts so I am hoping we can find someone special that will be able to help you while you are there.

I do not know if Hayden will have the bed or pull out. If he gets the pull out, I would suggest bringing one of the foam matress covers for the bed. My daughter, Taylor, complains that the pull outs are uncomfortable. You could use it as part of his bed when traveling and it might make it a little easier. I had to ride to Disney on one last year due to a bad back that required surgery just 2 months later. I don't know what I would have done without it, it really did ease the trip.

We were unable to order a meal to go from any sit down restaurant while we were there. They will let you take left overs (with the exception of buffets) so you can always order a little something extra off the menu then get a doggie bag. You will have quite a few choices around you to get something to go.

On thing that bothers me is that Beachs and Cream will not let you order a meal to go. We stayed at the Beach Club and I was in too much pain to wait for a table then sit and eat. Even after speaking with the manager they would not allow my husband to bring a burger to the room with him. If you can get Hayden over to the Beach Club (which is walking distance from the Boardwalk - I am not sure how familiar you are with the resorts) go and at least get a desert. Even the smallest sundae feeds 2 people, so be prepared to share.

I do know that you can not swim at the Beach Club if you are staying at the Boardwalk, even if you are a DVC member.

Have you checked with someone regarding Hayden and the Luau? Will he have to pay for the dinner show? I am just wondering if they will charge him if he will not be eating. If you have not received this information let me know and I will see what I can find out.

Thank you for all of the complements. We appreciate them greatly. We put this site together for people like you, that need a little extra information that gets lost in the Disney mania on other sites.

If you need to contact me you can reach me at my email address that comes to my phone - abmoore@bellsouth.net

Re: Hayden  (United States)

Angel did call WDW yesterday and YES Hayden can get a cot to lay on to rest while in the park. We are concerned that by the time you get there he will have spent half of his time and need rest. They said they have cots available at all locations and yes they can be perfectly flat. they did say that there is a limited number at Animal Kingdom and the studios. Remember too that they have refridgerators there too to keep your medical supplies.

Re: Hayden  (Canada)
Thanks all for all of the pixie dust and magical wishes. Please keep them coming. Hayden came home from school with a sore throat Wed. By Thurs. night he was coughing. Last night was rough and he's coughing tons of colourful junk up. Hayden must use a machine that coughs for him so he is wiped. Can't sleep for the coughing. His heart rate is also now elevated and his 02 SATs have dipped. We are doing lots of visualization exercises, picturing ourselves at Disney. I keep asking Hayden what he wants to see next and told him he needs more sunblock. Power of the mind, right?

Re: Hayden  (United States)

awww. tell him we are sending every  Mickey balloon the man is selling on Main Street.  They can lift him up and over everyone as he glides down Main Street where he can see Mickey and his friends performing in front of the castle.

We have plenty of sunblock, will SPF 50 do?
