Red Stick to Feature Princess Ball at the Old State Capitol April 24

On the evening of Friday, April 24, the Princess Ball returns to the Old State Capitol. All the young princesses in the Baton Rouge area are invited to attend and dance with their fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers or best friends.

The event is free, but the festival asks for voluntary $5 donations per family to local Girl Scout chapter - Girl Scouts Louisiana East. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for registration and dance instruction.

One of the many engaging activities stemming from the Red Stick International Animation Festival, the Princess Ball is targeted to young girls 2 to 10 years of age, but is open to the entire family. Attending princesses are encouraged to wear their favorite royal gown and princess shoes.

The evening's events will begin with a princess dance lesson taught by a featured dance teacher. The ball will commence with an evening of dancing to princess music including performances by singer, Katrell Joseph, and Defrances Academy of Dance.

Before the clock strikes nine, princesses will be crowned for the evenings' Most Royal, Best Dancer and Best Overall, in addition to two lovely princesses chosen at random. Jenny Heroman will be the MC for the evening's events.

The LSU Center for Computation & Technology sponsors the Red Stick International Animation Festival in partnership with East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President's Office, Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Louisiana Economic Development and Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
